CURRENT PROJECTS

In 2010 we look to have a very positive slate of work either in development or already started, both in community and education as well as digital arts-based events.

EVENTS

Our production-based networking event, ONE, has received funding from Arts Council England and Shropshire Council. We will be hosting six events in Shrewsbury this year, concluding with an exhibition of some of the work produced.

ONE details here.

Alongside this we continue to develop our electronica and digital performance event, The Humans Are Dead. Supported by The Hive in Shrewsbury, we are planning more experimental collaborations following the general positive feel from the first two events last year.

CREATIVE PARTNERSHIPS

We have already begun work on our ninth and tenth CP commissions, both of which are Change projects in Primary Schools.

At Wombwell, in Yorkshire, we are at the first stage of their Change project, exploring the impact of risk taking on the staff's confidence in delivering a creative curriculum, and on the personal, thinking and learning skills of pupils.

At Chalgrove in Oxfordshire we are working alongside theatre and puppet artist John Pinder on their second year of CP delivery. Here we are providing a range of creative experiences to inspire staff and pupils, concluding with a community film and performance festival in the school.

Our Creative Partnerships PDF, which outlines our approach to education work, can be downloaded here.

RESIDENTIAL SUMMER CAMP

In the summer, in association with Thrift Music Theatre, we will be holding a residential summer camp in Berkshire. Our Digital Assault Course, set in the finery of Ufton Court, is an opportunity for young people to experience an intensive, exciting journey into creativity and digital production.

EUROPEAN ARTS BUS TOUR

A unique experience for some of the most gifted emerging artists working with F+S and Thrift. Travelling through Europe on a tour bus, we will be visiting, creating and performing at events, documenting through electronic diaries and uploaded works, collaborating with artists we meet on the way, and completing Arts Awards at the same time.
